Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day. February 14th every year. The day all single people dread. When I think of Valentine's day all I think of is chocolate, candy, huge stuffed animals, and all the posts on Instagram and Snapchat I don't want to scroll through. Valentine's Day is all about celebrating the love you have for someone with over the top gifts like vacations or concert tickets. Sure it's a cool gift and you love getting chocolate from your girlfriend or boyfriend, but why not celebrate the love of God?

Think about it. God gives you the best gifts every day. Why not celebrate Him on Valentine's Day just like you should every other day. Putting your spouse first for a day over God shouldn't be acceptable. You should still pray and read your Bible first thing in the morning. Maybe today, you can go an extra mile and pray for an hour or read your Bible for an hour! God would love for you to do that for Him!

But honestly, Valentine's Day is so overrated. It's the same thing every year. Spouses giving each other presents to make them feel loved and posting long, sappy paragraphs and videos. Why can't you make them feel special everyday like you should? Maybe when you're posting these heartfelt posts, God is thinking, "Why don't they post about Me, and spread My love?" Of course God isn't jealous, but He questions why after everything I've done for you, can't you give Me a little something back?

I know today i'll be putting God first just like any other day. I'll be giving him the love he deserves today, even though i'm single. But if I was in a relationship, I wouldn't do all the sappy stuff, but i'd put God first.

Don't get me wrong. I still want chocolate and the heart shaped box of chicken minis from Chick Fil A! But the best day is actually February 15th because half off on chocolate!!! You won't get a better deal than that, so why not stock up?

Enjoy your Valentine's Day! I hope you get all the best chocolate!

"Nothing in all creation can separate us from God's love."
